The best and brightest of Chinese cinema gathered yesterday at the splashy red carpet premiere of "Beginning of the Great Revival."
Now, we know this might come as a shock since that's such an average, catchy title, but -- "Revival" is a propaganda film.
And not just any propaganda film.
It's got big-budget fight scenes and, as the poster brags, "over 150 major stars."
It's even being presented in IMAX.
The film celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Chinese Communist party.
We're impressed. Not impressed enough to become Communists, but still.
Here's the movie's official poster, which has a western vibe. (The film genre, not the hemisphere.)
Chinese actor Liu Ye has the distinction of playing a young Mao Zedong. (By the way, they weren't kidding about 150 famous actors -- check out all those photos behind him).
Chinese schoolchildren performed a song from the movie.
