Sarah Palin will make her first trip to Iowa on Tuesday in nearly seven months to promote the new documentary about her political career in Alaska, the Des Moines Register reported Saturday.
The two-hour long film favorably recounts Palin's rise in Alaska politics. The film's director, Stephen Bannon, is not hiding that his goal for the film is to rebuild Palin's image in preparation for a presidential campaign.
"This film is a call to action for a campaign like 1976: Reagan vs. the establishment," he told RealClearPolitics. "Let's have a good old-fashioned brouhaha."
Ms. Palin will be visiting Iowa two days after the publication of a new Iowa Poll, showing Rep. Michele Bachmann surging in the estimation of Iowa Republican precinct caucus attenders. And she will be visiting Iowa one day after Ms. Bachmann officially announces her candidacy for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination on Monday in Waterloo, Iowa.
The question on everyone's mind is what impact Bachmann's Iowa surge has on Palin's presidential ambitions. She'll be asked that question at least twenty times and twenty different ways at the film preview on Tuesday night.
